On Saturday morning of March 19, 2011, Rev. Jens Pett Johnson, Director of National Council of Church of Norway headed a six-person delegation to visit the headquarters of CCC/TSPM. Rev. Gao Feng, President of China Christian Council, warmly received the visitors. Rev. Gao and his colleagues exchanged ideas with Norwegian counterparts as far as some ministries of common interests are concerned.

Rev. Gao Feng expressed sincere welcome to the visitors. He said that it's delightful to meet both old and new friends and hoped to learn from each other though conversations. Rev. Jens Pett Johnson extended gratitude to the hospitality by CCC/TSPM, and he also took some time to briefly introduce the history of Church of Norway as well as its present work.

Rev. Kan Baoping, General Secretary introduced the general information of the Protestant Church in China, while Mr. Wang Baocheng, Deputy Director of Social Service Department, presented the projects carried on by his department to the visitors.

Norwegian guests were quite happy to know about the work of CCC/TSPM and also raised questions regarding some issues. Mr. Gu Mengfei, Deputy Director of Research Department, and some other colleagues of his gave answers accordingly.

The conversation helped to solidify mutual understanding and lay a good foundation for future cooperation. After the meeting, gifts were exchanged and a group photo was taken in the Holy Trinity Church. The visitors also looked around the book store.
Elder Ou Enlin, Deputy Director of Overseas Relations Department and Ms. Gu Jingqin, staff of Overseas Relations Department were also present at the meeting. |
