In order to commemorate the 60^th anniversary of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China, CCC/TSPM convened the 7^th Chairpersons’ and Presidents’ joint working meeting of the 8^th session of the National Committee of TSPM and the 6^th session of CCC was convened on July 19, 2010. The meeting focused on the discussion and decisions on various events of commemoration of the 60^th anniversary of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China.

The morning meeting was presided by Elder Fu Xianwei, Chairperson of National TSPM. Rev. Lin Zhihua, Vice President of CCC, led the prayer before the meeting. Rev. Xu Xiaohong, Secretary General of National TSPM, delivered a speech: The preparation for the 60^th anniversary celebration of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China. The decision of convening the 60^th anniversary celebration of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China on late September was discussed and agreed during the meeting. Participants also discussed about The Draft Summary of the 60^th anniversary of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China: Inheriting the Good Tradition of Loving the County while Loving the Church and Undertaking the Mission of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in New Era. The Draft Summary was fully recognized by the participants and they provided many valuable suggestions of revising parts of the content.

The afternoon meeting was presided by Rev. Gao Feng, President of CCC. The participants continued to discuss about The Draft Summary and agreed in principle to submit it to the standing committee of CCC/TSPM for further discussion after the revision.

The issue of increasing the standing committee members of CCC/TSPM was also discussed on the meeting and it was approved to increase several standing committee members on the premise of the total number of the standing committee members being unchanged.

The decision of hosting the events for the contributors to the development of the economic society during the 60^th anniversary celebration of the launching of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Church in China was also approved on the meeting. Under the recommendation by local CC/TSPM, CCC/TSPM will elect 30 model units and 40 model individuals as the contributors to the development of the economic society. The purpose for hosting this event is to encourage the church units and individuals to practice Bible, to be light and salt in the earth, to be beautiful testimonies for Christ and to make the contribution to the development of the economic society.

17 participants attended the meeting today, including the Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons, Secretary General, Associate Secretary Generals of National TSPM and President, Vice Presidents, General Secretary, Associate General Secretaries of CCC. Mr. Li Jinbao from the Second Bureau of China United Front and Mr. Jiao Yang from Protestantism Section of Second Division of State Administration of Religious Affairs were attending the meeting as observers.
