On May 28, Elder Fu Xianwei was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of Dushuhu Church in Suzhou.

Elder Fu Xianwei, Chair of National TSPM, Archbishop John Chew and Mrs. Chew, Anglican Diocese of Singapore, Kua Wee Seng, Coordiator of UBS Asia Pacific China Partnership, and Rev. An Xinyi, Chair of Jiangsu TSPM attended the thanksgiving service before the inauguration ceremony. Archbishop John Chew delivered a sermon themed ¡°the Light of the World and the City on a Hill¡± to exhort Christians not to forget Jesus¡¯ teaching, and to follow his example and his steps in various times, contexts and surroundings, to shoulder the responsibility endowed by God, and to be the light and the salt.
The inauguration ceremony started at 10:18am. Mr. Jiangjianyong, Vice Minister of SARA, Mr. Wang Jun, Vice Director-General of Jiangsu United Front and Director-General of Jiangsu RAB, Mr. Zhou Xiangqun, Director-General of Suzhou United Front, Ms. Tan Yin, Vice Mayor of Suzhou all attended the inauguration ceremony. Elder Fu, Archbishop and Mrs. Chew, Rev. An Xinyi as well as other 1, 500 church leaders and Christian both at home and abroad together witnessed the glorious moment.

Elder Fu Xianwei was invited to address the audience on the ceremony. He congratulated on the completion of the church and exhorted brothers and sisters of the church to make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. He also encouraged the church to enhance the unity and harmony of itself, to uphold the spirit of independence and autonomy, to insist on the Three-self principle to make the church better, and to facilitate various ministries to revive God¡¯s words and to set up His body. Meanwhile, Elder Fu wished that Dushuhu church would explore a new and lively way in the new time and the new context, to serve as an example of development for all churches in China and make efforts to be a golden lampstand in the society. He also encouraged brothers and sisters to manifest God¡¯s love and grace among people, to serve people according to God¡¯s teaching about love your neighbor as yourself, to bear good witness for the Lord, to let all see the light of the church and be benefited, to set up good image of the church in the society, and to let the latter splendor of this house be greater than the former. His addressing was applauded by the audience. After the ceremony, Elder Fu and Archbishop Chew continued to have a friendly talk. Elder Fu also invited Archbishop Chew, Mrs. Chew and Mr. Kua Wee Seng to visit CCC/TSPM headquarters in Shanghai as well as the Holy Trinity Church which is under renovation. |
