The new Board of Directors of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary convened a board meeting on March 1, 2010 on the new campus of the seminary. The meeting was presided by Elder Fu Xianwei, the new Chairman of the Board.

The Constitution of the Board of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary was adopted and the main leadership was appointed. The meeting nailed down that Nanjing Union Theological Seminary is directed by CCC/TSPM and carries the President¡¯s Responsibility System under the leadership of the board of directors.
Bishop K. H. Ting, as advanced in years, has tendered resignation as the president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary for many times, which was also the wish of Bishop Ting¡¯s family. After considering the resignation of Bishop Ting, the board has paid a high tribute to his diligent work on the theological education in China and invited him to be the Honorary President of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. The board has also accepted the resignation of Elder Ji Jianhong as the Standing Vice President, and the resignation of Rev. Gao Ying as the Vice President. Meanwhile, the board extended sincere gratitude to their great contributions along the years.
The board has concertedly agreed to appoint Rev. Gao Feng as the new president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary who is also the President of China Christian Council and the Chair of the Board of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. Rev. Chen Yilu, Associate General Secretary of CCC, Director of the Commission on Theological Education of CCC/TSPM and President of Guangdong Union Theological Seminary, has been appointed as the Standing Vice President of the seminary. Rev. Wang Aiming, the Assistant Director of the Commission on Theological Education of CCC/TSPM, has been appointed as the Vice President of the seminary.
Before the board meeting, CCC/TSPM has convened a conference of chairs and presidents, which decided that the new board of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary would consist of members of the conference, and that Elder Fu Xianwei, Chair of National TSPM, and Rev. Gao Feng, President of China Christian Council, are to be Chairs of the Board. |
